Broken noses - have you ever had one? Hurts, doesn't it?
They can occur during a fall or a fight, a collision, a sports game - really, almost any event.
What are the symptoms, you ask? According to material in the links below, some symptoms of a broken nose include:
swelling of the nose
pain
bruising around the nose or eyes
possibly, a nosebleed
Sometimes, complications occur and can require surgery.
Not being a physician and having absolutely no medical expertise, I can offer no medical advice for a broken nose.
However, as a parent and grandparent, I've seen kids take some pretty hard hits to the nose. I know that sometimes it hard to tell if injury is present because of swelling and I've read that usually waiting for the swelling to go down does no harm. However, I'd probably err on the side of caution and seek medical advice immediately if a nose injury occurred to my loved one.
