San Antonio Texas - an exciting travel destination


I've not been to San Antonio yet but it is definitely on my shortlist of vacation destinations. I've read that Riverwalk is the top tourist travel destination in Texas and from the photos I've seen I can understand why. You could wander around for days trying out all the restaurants and galleries and shops. And the Marketplace must surely be an interesting place. Sounds like fun to navigate your way through the area by boat instead of taxi.

During the Texas Revolution, the Battle of The Alamo took place at the Alamo mission which was built in the 1700s by the Spanish.The 187 men who defended it for 13 days against 6,000 Mexican soldiers perished in the battle. Their sacrifice inspired the battle cry "Remember the Alamo". The building has been restored and is now a National Historic Landmark. It is a huge tourist attraction.
